Cradled in the Vale of Llangollen in a tranquil side valley Bocs Sawna is a 6 seater wood-fired sauna with cold plunges.
Our site enjoys panoramic views of the vale, in a peaceful setting, just 1.7 miles from the bustling heart of Llangollen. Set amidst the glorious scenery of the Dee Valley; a space to rest, relax and recuperate.
Our six seater sauna is built in an Ifor Williams 505 horse box. It was designed by us and built with more than a little help from Shaun at ‘By Dezign’.
It is entirely bespoke and every piece of cladding and board was machined in house.
It was a long haul but we think the quality and attention to detail have made it worth going the extra mile.
Ventilation is optimised for a quality löyly.
Heat its provided by the mighty Narvi Black 20 which is fed from outside to minimise interruption.
At the core of sauna is the löyly, the Finnish term for the steam produced by the gentle ritual of ladling water over the hot stones; this produces an even, hot and humid environment which is the soul of the sauna.
Historically, löyly was understood to be the spirit or life-force of the sauna – something alive and essential, not merely physical steam. In short, löyly is the art of shaping the sauna experience through water, heat, rhythm and respect

Our cold plunges are three giant whiskey barrels filled with frigid water drawn from a mountain stream. After a cold shower to freshen up, enter the barrels from the platform, and enjoy sweeping panoramic views as you slowly chill your bones and vagus nerve in readiness for a return to the steamy embrace of the löyly.
The cold element is essential to unlock the true benefits of sauna. At least one minute is recommended but go at your own pace, listen to your body – no pressure!
In between water changes our plunges are regularly recirculated through a strainer, 20 micron filter and UV steriliser.
